Caribu Sheepskin Saddle Girth Sleeves are made from 100% genuine Australian Sheepskin for the comfort of your horse.

Protect the delicate skin of the girth area of your horse with 100% genuine Sheepskin. Thread the girth through the sleeve to provide maximum comfort for the horse and relive pressure and rubbing from the girth.

As wool has the ability to absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture the Sheepskin sleeve acts as a moisture wick, assisting to keep your horse dry & comfortable. The sleeve also acts to keep your girth clean.

Caribu Sheepskin Saddle Girth Sleeves are available in 2 standard sizes-

  • 600mm for long girth point saddles.
  • 800mm for short girth point saddles
  • Girth Sleeves have a minimum of 120mm internal width - and suit the majority of girths comfortably up to and including 115mm in width.
  • Girths are 100% Sheepskin and you can cut them down to suit your girth size with out compromising the girth sleeves integrity. To be able offer these girth sleeves at this great price we manufacture them from multiple pieces of sheepskin sewn together.

Colour Options:
White Sheepskin
Black Sheepskin

* Girths are not included. These are girth sleeves only.

Care of Sheepskin Girth Sleeves

Sheepskin Wool products need a lot more care than usual. Always allow the product to dry immediately after it has become damp or wet.

Always air your productss after use - no exceptions!! Horses sweat is caustic, if a product is put away damp with sweat, it will react with the sheepskin and accelerate the breakdown of the sheepskin. Repeated use of a pad without out proper drying out and airing will cause damage to the leather. Sheepskin saddle pads should be hand washed in cold or warm water (no more than 30c) using a mild soap designed for sheepskin. Avoid regular washing powders which nearly all contain enzymes or bleach. These enzymes break down the sheepskins very quickly.

It is not suggested to wash saddle pads in the washing machine because we find that the ‘agitator’ can be ruff on the sheepskin and on the finely stitched quilt. Remove excess water in the pad by carefully squeezing the water out or placing in your washing machine on the spin cycle only. Do not wring the pad out as it may result in damaging the pad.

Sheepskin saddle pads should be line dried out of the sun. Please do not put this pad in the dryer or on a heating device. Full care instructions here.
