Our Hybrid Attached hood combos combine the best aspects of both a polycotton rug and mesh - all in one rug.

The strong Euro-Mesh inserts in the neck and skirts allow extra airflow, keeping your horse protected from the harsh Australian sun & insects while still keeping them cool on those warmer days.

This Attached Hood Rug is great for year round use. The hood is permanently attached directly to the horse rug. The convenience of a Combo, but with the extra protection of a hood, with a hood poll strap*. Our hood poll strap is an added feature to help reduce the risk of the hood moving. We do allow extra length in the necks so that the horse can graze freely.

Features our 300gsm Diamond weave PolyCotton ripstop which is both strong, but still breathable and cool. The tear/ripstop threads give the Caribu Rug strength and durability.

Don't like Enclosed Ears? With this design the ears are attached & bound in such a way that if you prefer to use the hood permanently without ears - they can be cut off down low and the ear hole will still remain bound and prevent fraying.

How are our Hybrid Horse Rugs different?

Apart from the fact that we use a high end Diamond weave ripstop fabric, we also use our strong and durable Euro-Breeze Mesh in the neckline and skirts. Its both cool and offers good insect protection. These are a durable Hybrid Horse Rug made to last!

• Dual Diamond Weave Ripstop made from quality breathable 300gsm PolyCotton blend
• Soft Euro-Mesh inserts - 270gsm
• Mesh UV stabilized rating of more than 80% percent protection

5'0-5'3 Pony Size Hood
5'6-6'0 Cob Size Hood
6'0-6'9 Full Size Hood

6'0 is available with either a Cob or Full size hood attached. Generally we only recommend a COB size hood with a 6'0 rug which fits 90% of horses. Only order a Full Size hood if you are 100% sure. *Horses are unpredictable animals and there is always a risk of a horse dislodging a hood from scratching, snagging or other mischief and then panicking if their vision is effected. When using hoods on horses you need to consider the horses temperament, location to other horses, environment and their overall suitability for wearing hoods. We recommend only using hoods in safe environments where the horse can be regularly supervised at all times. Please read our detailed user guide on using hoods and masks, things you need to consider, as well as information on correct adjustment of poll straps on this link

This rug was fantastic and fit my horse great, he rubbed previously but this rug was fine on him. I am very happy with my rug and it looks really cute on him.

These rugs are fantastic and the throat/poll strap is the best idea ever. It holds the hood in place even when your horse rolls the hood doesn't slip. And my horse's rashes from insects have all started to clear up. Hopefully caribu will bring these rugs out in a synthethic for cooler rainy days

I just wanted to say how much I LOVE the Caribu Hybrid ripstop/mesh combos. My 3 horses have been out in the rain all day (January 2013), these hybrids have helped keep my horses happy & comfortable under thier rainsheets. I've just brought them into the stables for dinner etc & took the rugs off top to put fresh dry rugs on & all 3 horses (pony, TB & WB) were all completely DRY under their rugs. Thank you so much for such fantastic products.
