Caribu offers 4 different Air Mesh fabrics - which one do I need?

It can be confusing with so many choices! The best rug for your horse on a hot day - is no rug at all. When its 30c+ and/or humid, your horse will sweat under any rug. Sweating is how a horse maintains its body temperature as heat increases. Mesh works best when there is a breeze to allow airflow over and through the horse rug. As a horse owner, its always going to be a compromise between keeping your horse cool, and provide sun and/or insect protection.

Read our helpful guide about the pro's and cons of each of our fabrics. Learn more. .

Lovely light rug that fits perfectly. I am extremely happy with all the Caribu rugs I have bought and this one is no different. I dont buy my rugs from anyone else now.

Hi Jane As you know, every one of my horses has their own wardrobe of Caribu rugs & I they I have not had one ill fitting rug, even though my horses are different shapes & sizes, your rugs are simply THE BEST :) 4 weeks I got my first Euromesh Flymesh from you to test out on the one the horse that loves nothing better than to roll & roll & I'm just letting you know, I am very impressed with this rug. Bert needs to have his flymesh on 24/7 as he is a snowcap appaloosa with pink skin, so not only on at night to protect him mozzies etc but also on during the day to prevent him from getting sunburnt. The Euromesh has passed all the tests & I will definitely be getting one for every other one of my horses, not only are they tough but a lot cooler than the 410gsm rug which I have sworn by for years. Keep up the fantastic job you do in delivering great products at great prices & I will definitely keep recommending your rugs - "Simply The Best" !! THANK YOU, Sue Sharpe :)

Hi Guys - we have been so happy with these Euromesh! I was sceptical that they would not be as cool as they are - nut I was very pleasantly surprised! Way better than the Flag I was leaning towards - and way stronger!.
  • Reviewer: Laura Collier
Absolutely great rug! I bought one for my dark coated, bug sensitive QH mare and it fits fabulously. In this really hot and humid weather (high 30s and occasional 40 degrees) she is sweating much less under this rug than when I leave her 'naked'. The air flow is great and she is much less bothered by bugs. These rugs are top quality, with attention to detail. It stands up well to the attentions of the yearling in the paddock and the mutual grooming sessions. Congratulations Caribu! I have been showing off the new rug to all my horse friends. Laura

We recently purchased 5 Euro-mesh combo rugs. They were ordered Tuesday afternoon and arrived at the Post Office Thursday morning. We are extremely happy with the quality and price. I generally like to view and feel a product before purchase, but thought I would take a gamble as the rugs were recommended to me. I expected one rug would be getting a bit of a hiding from an 'itchy' horse, but so far it has handled everything thrown at it!. Will definitely be buying all rugs off you now.

Fantastic rug has lasted really well and keeps the bugs off. Even keeps him cool in Tropical Far North QLD
  • Reviewer: Lisa Stuart
My horse loves his Euromesh rug, very very happy with this purchase, I've come back to outfit the rest of my horses with their own rugs also. Keeps him cool in 40 degree heat and horrible flies, Thanks!!
  • Reviewer: Bianca
The 410gsm rug is a great rug fits extremely well and looks fantastic. Very fast delivery definitely will be using caribu again. Thank you caribu for the fast service and great quality rug
  • Reviewer: Sue Sharpe
Just loooove these Euromesh Flymesh rugs, keep our horses so cool, even on the hottest days, especially great on the darker coloured horses for this reason !!
I am so looking forward to these rugs coming out in the X-Long Gusset for my big babies - Thank you from me & our horses for another fantastic rug !!
They also dry so quickly when we've had a bit of rain !!
  • Reviewer: Tracy Joy
