Caribu Flag Attached Hood Combos are perfect for keeping your horse cool and protected on those extra hot days.

Every horse should have one of these in their wardrobe. Ideal for summer days, they keeps away the flies and offer protection from UV rays.

With our design, the hood is permanently attached directly to the horse rug. Our hood poll strap is an added safety feature to reduce the risk of the hood* moving. We do allow extra length in the neck section allowing your horse to graze without interference.

With a generous drop this flag hooded horse rug has been made with the Australian climate and horses in mind.

Caribu Flag Attached Hood Rug Features:

• Double layered fabric in the chest and mane area for extra strength and help prevent rub.
• Reinforced binded necklines
• Generous Tail flap
• Dual Chest Straps
• Bartac Reinforcing on all fittings
• Rump darts, & tailored back line for a snug fit

Colours: White Flag. Binding colours are predominantly Turquoise or Red or Blue. If you have a preference please let us know in order notes at time of ordering and we will attempt to accommodate your request if that colour is available.

Please refer to our Rug Sizing Guide for a guide to sizing your horse.

5'0-5'3 Pony Size Hood
5'6-6'0 Cob Size Hood
6'0-6'9 Full Size Hood

6'0 is available with either a Cob or Full size hood attached. Generally we only recommend a COB size hood with a 6'0 rug which fits 85% of horses. Only order a Full Size hood if you are 100% sure. A Full size hood is a large hood and generally only used on larger TB's & Warmbloods. Ask us if you are at all unsure.

6'3 is available with either a Cob or Full size hood attached. Generally we only recommend a Full size hood with a 6'3 rug which fits 90% of horses. Only order a COB Size hood if you are 100% sure. Sometimes the shorter, broader horses, need the bigger rug size, but the smaller hood size (ie: Quarter Horse builds etc)

# Please note: Flag is a light weight fabric with a loose open weave (much like cheese cloth) and is by its nature, is cooler than some other fabrics. However, Flag doesn't have the same strength or durability in the material or stitching as traditional rugs and you should expect a much shorter life from them. Flag rugs are very easily destroyed and we don't recommend using Flag on a horse that suffers from itch or loves to scratch, roll or get into any sort of mischief. Flag is a good alternative for horses who are easy on rugs, but keep in mind any flag rug can have a limited life depending on your horses nature & environment. Check your rug carefully before using for any demonstrable manufacturing faults, ensure you are happy with the fabric, bindings & stitching - before the rug is used - as we will not honour a warranty on flag rugs once they have been used. For a stronger alternative, we suggest either of our Euro-Breeze or Euro-Lite mesh options which are our next 'coolest' horse rugs, but with better durability.

**Horses are unpredictable animals and there is always a risk of a horse dislodging a hood from scratching, snagging or other mischief and then panicking if their vision is effected. When using hoods on horses you need to consider the horses temperament, location to other horses, environment and their overall suitability for wearing hoods. We recommend only using hoods in safe environments where the horse can be regularly supervised at all times. Please read our detailed user guide on using hoods and masks, things you need to consider, as well as information on correct adjustment of poll straps on this link

I wish you made a flag rug with detachable hood. When I buy them sewn on they often fall of. This would be more suitable for the tropics.
