What sets our 1680 Deniers Turnout horse rugs apart from others?

  • The Colorado winter rugs include reflective bindings & seams for added night safety as standard.
  • We only use Premium 410gsm weight 1680 Denier fabrics. Be wary of cheaper 1680 Denier rugs using thinner 320gsm fabrics. (more info below)
  • We use extra wide fabric for construction - which allows us to deliver generous drops even in the bigger sizes. (as an example size 6'0 has a generous 106cm drop up to a 7’0 with a 115cm drop.)
  • No rugs is ever 100% waterproof, but ours come close. We use a continuous run of fabric in the neck and body of the combo - no joins or seams in the neck line or back seam to let water in! The continuous neckline also helps to reduce mane rubbing.
  • Dual European style 'Quick release' chest buckles with extra adjustment options.
  • Very Generous 'Full Wrap' tail flaps
  • All Caribu Synthetic Rugs and Combos are rated to a waterproof rating of at least 3000MM - more than twice the minimum requirements. Our Synthetic Rugs also have have a breathability rating of at least 3000gr/m2/per24hrs. The waterproof rating relates to the fabric. No rug is ever 100% waterproof, as water will enter via seams & joins that can not be heat sealed (ie behind chest buckles, leg straps and tail flap joins). We use a continuous run of fabric in the neck and body of the combo - no joins or seams in the neck line or back seam to let water in! The continuous neckline also helps to reduce mane rubbing. Finally Caribu! I have been waiting for years for you to do a 1680. Mine arrived today - I love it. Half the price of Weatherbetta and better quality. Thankyou.

I bought two of these rugs (Colorado) and cannot fault them. My horses have endured monsoon rains this season with not a single wet spot anywhere underneath. Very warm - love it :)

This is the best rug EVER!!! It keeps your horse warm during cold weather and never rips.
I personally recommend Caribu over all other horse websites. Their deliver is also so fast.
    Thank you Caribu.

In the past I have never looked past weatherbeeta for our rugs. After asking our trainer what rugs she used - she recommended caribu for quality and affordability.

I had a look online and I couldn't believe how cheap the rugs were and my first thought was that surely they can't be very good quality at this price. Despite my doubts - I decided to give one a shot and if it wasn't any good it can always be a spare.

I went straight for the 1680 denier because the price was too irresistible to pass up. I paid for express as it was Easter weekend coming up and I didn't want to be waiting over a week for standard post. I was pleasantly surprised that it came the next day when I only ordered it that afternoon.

On first receiving it I looked at all the seams, fittings and the quality of the material. Everything looked amazing and far superior to the rugs I have purchased in the past. It's finally cold enough to start using it and it fits my mare perfectly. I really love it and it's by far my favourite winter rug I've ever had.

I will definitely be shopping at caribu for all my future rug needs. Highly recommend this rug for anyone considering this one. Excellent value for money and the finishes are amazing.

I bought one of these Colorado rugs for my very chunky QH built Appaloosa mare & the fit just couldn't be more perfect, roomy without being loose & oh so waterproof !! I will definitely be buying one of these Colorado rugs for each of the horses to add to their already extensive Caribu wardrobes that they have all gained over the last 10 years. Thank you once again Jane & Zane for another top product *****AAAAA

The best rug, I have ever purchased. I'm waiting for more stock to become available, as they have sold out. I will never purchase a rug again from any other brand as they just do not last like this rug..
  • Reviewer: Daisy
My trainer first told me that she uses caribu rugs because they're cheaper and that comment instantly put me off buying one as I felt that meant it was a lesser quality to the many expensive ones I have churned through. I decided to give caribu a chance after cracking a tanty when I was forced to toss out another expensive winter rug after only one season.

I bought this rug because it was the highest denier and still cheaper than what I would usually pay for a rug. Holy hell am I glad I did. This rug is beautifully made and it's lasted the whole season without a single mishap and still looks like new! Unfortunately it was a little too heavy for my mare as she has a thick fluffy coat so ill be packing it away and storing it. I'll definitely be buying a lighter one for her next winter because the quality was far superior to the ones I've purchased in the past. My mare usually rips her rugs but this one proved unbreakable so I highly recommend this rug if you have a horse like mine that's tough on their rugs.

Do your self a favour, purchase this rug for next winter, not one runny nose
