Caribu Cotton Fly Bonnet

This is a great alternative to the traditional Fly mask. Made from Dual Ripstop Poly cotton these bonnets are lot more flexible and comfortable that the stiffer mesh fly masks. The nose flaps are also great for those of us who have horses that suffer from sunburn.

We also find that the horses tolerate these bonnets better than a traditional mask and are less likely to remove them. They also offer a great alternative than using a hooded rug for ear protection. The unique locking tab also allows for lots of adjustment - to insure you get a good fit.

An excellent fitting fly bonnet that offers:-

• Great fly and insect protection.
• Extra strong adjustable velcro locking strap, with double locking action to make it a challenge for any horse to remove.
• Unique completely enclosed ears, which are especially good if your horse gets bitten by insects on the ears or if you have show horses - and you need to clip out there ears for showing.
• Complete with a soft fleece trim to prevent rubbing and a snug fit all the way around to keep the flies out.
• Nose Flap to help with Sunburn
• Stiff mesh eye spheres with adequate space between the mask and your horses eyes to insure there is no interferences.
• Fully machine washable.

Available Colours: White with Blue Ripstop - as shown

Suggested Sizing: Please use the following as a guide only (horses heads can vary so much in shape). There is generally overlap in sizing as the masks do have a lot of adjustment.

Extra XSmall Pony - 4'3 to 5'0 (no Longer Available)
Pony/Small - 5'0 to 5'6
Cob/Medium - 5'6 to 6'0
Full/Large - 6'3 to 6'9

Our Price $26.95 (RRP $46.95+)

Please keep in mind that if you haven't used a fly mask on your horse before, insure you can adequately supervise them during initial use. Horses will either tolerate a mask or they wont. If its the later, they will do what ever they can to remove the mask. Itchy horses can via rubbing the mask on their legs or any available object dislodge the fitting of the mask. Please use common sense in fitting to your horse.

Reviewer: julie Bowden
Great bonnet, I have bought one for each of my horses, one horse loves to dress up and practically put it on himself the other horse has an issue with touching his ears, yet has no problem with his bonnet, also both horses have not managed to remove them.

Reviewer: Jenn
Well made mask with heavy duty stitching. Purchased a cob size which was a large fit, but still very secure.
Purchased due to horse with white nose gettng sunburnt, really good coverage over nose. Very happy with the product.

Horse Hints - No 22

Avoid Feeding Dry Hay to
Miniatures during Winter

Miniatures have a high risk of bowel impaction if they are fed dry hay during cold weather, especially with little succulent pasture to graze to provide normal bowel moisture. Feeding a group of minis dry hay,
or from a self-fed round bale, can result in the hind gut ‘drying out’ and increasing
the risk of impaction.

Often minis do not drink enough water during cold weather to adequately hydrate their bowels. Always dampen hay by hosing each biscuit in a
poly-woven chaff bag, letting it stand to soak up the moisture for 10-15 minutes, before taking the biscuit in the bag to a feed bin and emptying the hay and
loose leaf matter into the feeder.
