Caribu Fly Mesh Fly Bonnet

Based on our very popular polycotton fly bonnets, our mesh fly bonnets are made from a very soft & durable UV rated fly mesh (same as we use in our mesh horse rugs). The soft mesh is a lot more flexible as well comfortable compared to the stiffer mesh fly masks. Our design moulds to the shape and contours of your horses head very closely. The nose flaps are also great for those of us who have horses that suffer from sunburn.

We find that the horses tolerate these bonnets better than a traditional mask and are less likely to remove them. The stiffer bubble mesh eyes sit well out from the eye and are not so intrusive. These Fly masks offer a great alternative to using a hooded rug for ear protection. The unique double locking neck tab allows for lots of adjustment to insure you get a good fit.

The mesh also has the added benefit of not absorbing the rain and having improved airflow.

Don't like Enclosed Ears? With this design the ears are attached & binded in such a way that if you prefer to use the hood permanently without ears - they can be cut off down low and the ear hole will still remain binded and prevent fraying.

An excellent fitting fly bonnet that offers:-

• A durable and soft mesh with high airflow..
• Great fly and insect protection.
• Extra strong adjustable velcro locking strap, with double locking action to make it a challenge for any horse to remove.
• Unique completely enclosed ears, (which can be permanently removed)
• Complete with a soft fleece muzzle padding to prevent rubbing
• Nose Flap to help with Sunburn
• Stiff bubble mesh eye spheres with adequate space between the mask and your horses eyes to insure there is no interferences.
• Fully machine washable.

Available Colours: Blue - as shown

Suggested Sizing: Please use the following as a guide only (horses heads can vary so much in shape). There is generally overlap in sizing as the masks do have a lot of adjustment.

Extra XSmall Pony - 4'3 to 5'0 (No Longer Available)
Pony/Small - 5'0 to 5'6
Cob/Medium - 5'6 to 6'0
Full/Large - 6'3 to 6'9

Our Price $26.95 (RRP $39.95+)

Please keep in mind that if you haven't used a fly mask on your horse before, insure you can adequately supervise them during initial use. Horses will either tolerate a mask or they wont. If its the later, they will do what ever they can to remove the mask. Itchy horses can via rubbing the mask on their legs or any available object dislodge the fitting of the mask. Please use common sense in fitting to your horse.

Horse Hints - No 12

Adjust a Saddle-  If your horse changes body condition during the year, check that the saddle fits comfortably.

An increase in condition in spring may allow the saddle to roll or move excessively, causing the skin to move or ripple behind the elbow at the girth, resulting in a girth gall.

If a horse loses condition during winter, the saddle and padding may need to be adjusted to prevent it rubbing the withers and back.
