Caribu - Standard Design

At Caribu we use a consistent design across all our different styles of rugs. As an example, if you purchase a Ripstop Polycotton Combo, you can rest assured that if you purchase a similar size in another style of rug it will use the same design cut and sizing. That's peace of mind. the only exception is our turnout combos. Checkout our rug size guide for more information.

Our rugs are also true to size and will measure exactly as they are sized. Checkout our sizing guide for traps you can fall into with other manufacturers.

Rugs like Wool or Fleece will have a shorter drop - so as not to extend past your outer turnout.

All our designs undergo extensive field testing before production, across a variety of studs and stables, that work in conjunction with us to evaluate and develop our product range. The current Caribu designs reflect many years of development and feedback from our customers from the tens of thousands of rugs we have produced.

You can rest assured, when purchasing Caribu, that you are purchasing a rug design that has stood the test of time and has been in use for many seasons. Rug technology keeps on changing with new fabrics, fittings and sewing techniques and our rugs keep pace with the needs of our customers and the benefits of new technology in the market place.

Standard Fittings

When purchasing a horse rug - its often the little things you forget to check, like fittings and the little extras that make a horse rug a pleasure to use.
The following are standard features on all our Caribu Horse Rugs:

- All fittings are Bartac stitch reinforced for added strength, we also use Bartac at the bottom of gussets and with our tail flap attachments - places that can have high stress placed on them
- Stainless Chest & Neck Buckles - we don't use velcro or plastic!
- Anti-Rub linings in shoulders and mane area.
- Wither Padding
- Webbed leg straps - that can be easily removed (no elastic here!)
- Steel leg strap Snap Hooks Buckles Halter Loops
- Tent tail Flaps - Mare friendly
- Rump Darts To insure the rug moulds to your horse's rump.
- Contoured back lines - for perfect fit, the rug needs to follow a horses body shape.
- Double stitched Polypropylene bindings.
- Shoulder gussets*

Bellaru Dog Accessories

Hi I recently bought the hybrid Mesh rug for my gelding. I would just like to say what a fantastic rug, we had a full week of high 30s to low 40's and my horses (my mare has a similar one) were the only ones to keep their rugs on, all the other horses on the property were stripped of their rugs as it was just too hot. The rug stayed cool enough to keep my gelding safe from the insects and the burning sun. Regards Nicole
