The Caribu Eclipse Rainsheet Tunrout Horse rug is our most popular waterproof combo design. Made from strong waterproof 1200 Denier,with built in Ripstop. The Eclipse Combo Rug incorporates a soft can-can mesh lining (No fill) with a revised Anti-Rub lining in the entire mane, shoulders and skirts. The soft can-can mesh creates a breathing space between the rug and your horses coat.

This rug is ideal for all seasons and can be used on its own, or use it as an outer rug and layer rugs underneath in the cooler weather. A great design with quality materials and construction.

What sets this combo apart from others?
We use an advanced 1200 Denier fabric with polymers. The hi-tech manufacturing process insures that the denier fabric works to keep water out - but allows the humid/moist air to escape out through the material keeping your horse - dry but allows sweat and moisture to breath out to eliminate chills. We also use a soft can-can mesh lining which significantly increases breathability and comfort - and is far superior to other linings on the market.

All Caribu Synthetic Rugs and Combos are rated to a waterproof rating of at least 3000MM - more than twice the minimum requirements. Our Synthetic Rugs have a breath ability rating of at least 3000gr/m2/per24hrs - so you can rest assured that your horse will be snug in the worst of weather. Which Denier do I need? 600D or 1200D? At Caribu we only produce 1200Denier Rugs. 1200 Denier uses double the thread weave over a 600D fabric. 1200D offers far superior strength and durability and will far outlast a 600D rug. Their is very little difference in Breathability, insulation or weight - what you do get is the added strength & life..

We recommend using rainsheets in conjunction with a light cotton rug. Colder outside air temperature and warmer air under the rug form the horses body heat will create condensation. This will accumulate on the inside of the rug. A light cotton under rug or similar with a good moisture wicking properties helps to transport moisture away from their skin.
