Our Deluxe Mesh Combos are made from a stronger weight 410 gsm mesh -they are legendary for their strength and durability. Made from a custom made superior UV stabilized mesh, the construction of this fabric allows plenty of breeze to pass through the fabric and across your horse, keeping the horse cool and fly free on the HOTTEST of days.

With a generous drop, tent tail flap and belly surcingles - this horse rug has been made with the Australian climate and horses in mind. Ideal for keeping flies, midges & other biters out!

Should I use a 'Deluxe' Mesh or 'Euromesh' Mesh rug? Mesh rugs have many advantages over ripstop, they are cooler, with better airflow, usually slightly stronger and also dry out very quickly after a shower of rain - alleviating itch. Our Deluxe 410gsm rugs and our 270gsm Euromesh rugs are very similar, both soft and both featuring similar airflow and UV protection - but each fabric has its own advantages.

Deluxe '410gsm Mesh' - The 410gsm rugs are best suited to horses who need ultimate insect protection. This mesh is both strong and uses a tighter, raised mesh weave which offers improve insect protection. The 410gsm mesh is also stronger and ideally suited to horses who are hard on rugs and suffer from itch and insect bites. This mesh has become legendary for its durability and performance.

EuroMesh '270gsm' - The EuroMesh is a revolutionary new style of soft fly mesh. It features a flatter weave mesh. The holes in the mesh are slightly larger. It has the benefit of being a lighter weight rug, which can be slightly cooler, as you have a lighter weight fabric. Still offering good insect protection, its ideal for horses who don't suffer excessively from itch or insect bites and need a cool general use rug.

Hi there guys... I purchased one of your blue fly mesh combos last summer for my big t/bred hack... I can honestly say, it is the longest lasting rug I have owned!!! He spent ALL last summer in it and sometimes for days on end - rain, hail and shine...It has not worn anywhere. All clips, buckles and straps are still in place and not a rip or tear in sight!!!! Thankyou for supplying a good quality product that is well within everyone's price range..anyone that is strapped for cash could purchase this rug and never need for another one all summer and spring. Must add - also a great under rug and works the coat as well!!! Grand, grand job guys...cannot reccomend you enough to all my horsey mates!!!

Excellent quality mesh and finish for the price compared to other mesh rugs I have seen. Great fit on my young horse and love the satin shoulder/wither lining as he has very coarse mane which is easily rubbed out. Very happy with product and service as usual. What impresses me even more is that you listen what your customers want in a rug and develop your products accordingly.

What causes Queensland itch and what can I do to manage It? The usual cause of Queensland Itch is a hypersensitivity to the bites of sand flies (midges) of the species Culicoides. While the bite of the midge is an irritation, some horses develop sensitivity to the bite and will rub themselves so much that they cause injury to their skin and destroy their rugs in the process.
